PPC VS OPC Cement
PPC
PPC or Portland Pozzolana Cement is considered to be a more Sustainable substitute for Ordinary Portland Cement. Limestone used in cement manufacturing is an exhaustive resource and in a few decades, there will be a great shortage of limestone particularly in the west. Flyash- the pozzolanic material used in PPC is a waste product of thermal power generation units and causes huge disposal problems.
OPC
A mixture of limestone and other raw materials like argillaceous, calcareous, gypsum is prepared and then grinded to prepare OPC.
If You are really Responsible for Environment always Use PPC Over OPC for construction of your residential buildings. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND PPC. I have an innumerable reason for it.
